Newsday | Erik Boland: We watch Aaron Judge a lot. Outside from a few hiccups, we pretty much know when he hits the dongs of thunder. Last night was such an instance. Judge has been in a bit of a slump. On Friday, there was even fear that he might have injured his thumb, causing him to miss playing time. Thankfully, that was not the case. Judge knew it wasn’t too serious and he did well to prove it with that go-ahead dinger off of former Yankee legend Anthony Swarzak. Also, I just want to point this Judge statement out…
“With a guy like Swarzak, who’s got wipeout stuff, you have to try and get him early,” Judge said.
Judge is a very nice individual.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: While Judge’s thumb injury wasn’t serious, Masahiro Tanaka’s hamstring injury was. Well, I guess we should count our blessings that he’s only on the 10-day DL. It’s still not great, as Tanaka is expected to miss a month. The good news is that Ronald Torreyes is back on the team and high five’in Judge after dingers. The bad news is that the options being discussed to replace Tanaka are David Hale and Luis Cessa. Jonathan Loaisiga is another option, but he’s going to have to give me a couple of link dumps to properly spell his last name on the first try.
Newsday | David Lennon: Ever stop for a moment and consider that the Yankees have two potential Rookie of the Year contenders on their team right now? Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar have done just about everything that could be expected of them and more. Meanwhile, in Queens, the Mets’ young rookies have not quite lived up to expectations. It’s still early for players like Amed Rosario and Brandon Nimmo of course, but it’s an appropriate look at the current difference between both NY baseball franchises.
Omg the Mets literally ran out of fireworks and are just playing music.
YOU CAN NOT MAKE THIS FRANCHISE UP.

To be fair, so is this.
New York Daily News | Daniel Popper: Domingo German is another Yankee rookie who has been stepping up. German was already filling in for Jordan Montgomery and, unless the Yankees make a trade or two, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere. While German gave up three early runs yesterday, he settled down the Mets’ offense and gave the Yankees a chance to get back in the game. Nine strikeouts in six innings is nothing to scoff at either.
New York Post | Ian Mohr: CC Sabathia, famous podcast host, is hosting a softball game for charity. Not just any softball game, but one with celebrities! This star-studded event will include some new Yankees like Giancarlo Stanton, some old Yankees like Jorge Posada and Alex Rodriguez, and other famous rappers, comedians, and so forth. Proceeds from the event will go to the PitCCh In Foundation and the Yankees Foundation. Here’s hoping they broadcast it or Twitch it or something.
